On Wednesday, Israeli soldiers abducted at least thirty Palestinians, including a journalist, from several parts of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Detainee’s Committee and the Palestinian Prisoners Society said the soldiers stormed and ransacked dozens of homes across the occupied West Bank, and abducted at least thirty Palestinians, including at least sixteen who were abducted at dawn.
They added that the invasions and abductions were mainly carried out in the governorates of Jerusalem and Ramallah, in addition to Bethlehem, Tubas, Jenin, Qalqilia, and Jericho, and included massive destruction of homes and infrastructure, while the soldiers also assaulted and injured many Palestinians.
Among the abducted Palestinians are a journalist Asma’ Hreish who was taken from her home, in addition to several former political prisoners and the mother of Ahmad Gethan whom the soldiers killed last year.
Also Wednesday, the soldiers invaded the Silat Ath-Thaher town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and shot a young man.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army abducted more than 7.990 Palestinians, mostly from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank, since October 7, 2023; among the abductees are dozens of women, children, elders, and patients.
At least 9.100 Palestinian detainees, including about 200 children, are currently imprisoned by Israel, however, the numbers are higher as the exact number of Palestinians abducted by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip remains unknown.
Among the imprisoned Palestinians are 3.558 detainees who are imprisoned under arbitrary Administrative Detention orders without charges or trial.
