Israeli soldiers abducted, on Saturday evening, a Palestinian mother along with her son and daughter after they helped free a child after she was assaulted by illegal colonialist settlers who tried to kidnap her.

According to human rights activist and a volunteer with the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories (B’Tselem), Emad Abu Shamsiyya, a group of fanatic colonists tried to kidnap his granddaughter, Rateel Tannina, only 17 months of age, while she was with her family in Tal Romedia neighborhood in the center of Hebron city.

Abu Shamsiyya added that his son, ‘Awni, 22, his daughter, Marwa, 17, and his wife, Faiza, 44, were assaulted by the soldiers while trying to stop them from grabbing the child, causing various cuts and bruises.

He also said that Israeli soldiers then rushed to the scene, abducted the family members instead of forcing the assailing colonists away, and moved detained Palestinians to the interrogation facility, which is built on private lands near the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Abu Shamsiyya stated that his family is subject to frequent assaults and violations by the colonists, and that the soldiers only intervene to provide protection to the assailants.

It is worth mentioning that Emad Abu Shamsiyya and his family have been subject to frequency serious Israeli violations and assaults, especially after he captured on film the execution of Abdul-Fattah Sharif, on March 24 2016, after the Palestinian was already shot and seriously wounded.

Although they escalated after that incident, these serious violations were already taking place against him and his family for documenting assaults by the soldiers and the colonialist settlers.
