Israeli forces, on Monday, demolished two homes belonging to Palestinian citizens in the Jericho governorate in the Jordan Valley, and a waste sorting station in Al-Ram town, north of occupied Jerusalem.

East of Jericho, in the Jordan Valley, the Israeli army stormed the “Airport” area, accompanied by two excavators and two front-end loaders.

The heavy machinery proceeded to demolish two houses belonging to two brothers, Zaki and Shaher Zaitoun, and another belonging to Zaghloul Shweiki.

The army also demolished the walls of a house that belongs to the Al-Rabadi family, under the pretext of being established in “Area C”, under full Israeli civil and administrative control.

Meanwhile, Israeli courts ordered the confiscation of Palestinian-owned land in occupied Jerusalem, where three inhabited homes are situated.

According to the landowner, Sami Samih Darwish, after nearly twenty years of procedures in the occupation courts, Israeli authorities ordered the seizure of his land and homes.

Darwish added that the occupation court rejected his appeal under the pretext that the land is purportedly part of the illegal “Gilo” colony, established on Palestinian-owned lands south of occupied Jerusalem.

The total area of the land is more than 14 dunams, while the three homes, which are shelter to at least thirty family members, each have an area of 400 square meters.

Furthermore, a large army force, accompanied by four military bulldozers, demolished the solid waste transfer station of the Al-Ram municipality, north of occupied Jerusalem.

Media sources said that the station accommodates the town of Al-Ram’s waste, which exceeds 60 tons per day.

The heavy machinery proceeded to level the station to the ground, demolished the walls, barracks, and existing equipment, and bulldozed the paved land.

The municipality had not received any demolition notices or court decisions regarding the decision.

The transfer station was built 35 years ago on three dunams of the lands of the neighboring town of Jaba’.

It was added that the station was equipped with the necessary infrastructure, equipment, and advanced mechanisms for sorting waste, and reducing waste output by 80%, in partnership with a company specialized in waste sorting and recycling.

It was predicted that the destruction of the waste sorting facility will result in an environmental crisis, from an accumulation of waste.
