Israeli occupation forces demolished four structures in the town of Al-Judeira, north of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, on Monday, citing lack of construction permits, in addition to delivering demolition orders for three residential buildings in Qalandia, northwest of Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate stated that the demolished structures included a two-story home, a public park, a shelter, and walls, part of an ongoing policy aimed at erasing Palestinian presence in the area.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces assaulted several journalists near Al-Judeira, firing stun grenades at them.
Nearby, in the town of Rafat, the army fired gas and sound grenades after invading the town, triggering a fire in surrounding farmland.
Also on Monday, Israeli authorities delivered demolition orders for three residential buildings in Qalandia, northwest of Jerusalem.
Local sources report that the municipal crews, accompanied by soldiers and military police officers, stormed the eastern part of the town and delivered demolition orders targeting buildings housing approximately 12 residential units, again citing unlicensed construction.
These orders are part of a broader demolition campaign targeting Palestinian homes and establishments across East Jerusalem, Silwan, Isawiya, and towns in the Jericho region including Al-Eizariya and Rafat.
According to the monthly report released Monday by the Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission, Israeli authorities carried out 75 demolitions in July alone, destroying 122 structures.
These included 60 inhabited homes, 11 uninhabited ones, 22 agricultural facilities, and 26 sources of livelihood, most concentrated in the governorates of Jerusalem (53 structures), Ramallah (22), and Bethlehem (18).
In related news, the soldiers invaded Ethna town, west of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing several injuries.
While Israel continues to build and expand its illegal colonies, Palestinian communities and towns in occupied Jerusalem and various areas in the occupied West Bank continue to be denied the right to build homes and property under various allegations meant to prevent the expansion of Palestinian towns and neighborhoods.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass
