Israeli forces assassinated a Palestinian young man and injured others before dawn Tuesday, after special forces besieged a commercial shop in the city of Qalqilia, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said that occupation forces executed the young man, Baraa Saleh Khalil Yousef Maskawi, 19, during a stand off and heavy gunfire after special forces besieged and bombed a shop in Qalqilia city.
Sources added that Israeli special forces infiltrated the al-Naqqar neighborhood in Qalqilia, followed by military reinforcements, and surrounded a commercial shop.
Israeli forces demanded that the young man surrender himself over loudspeakers, refusing to exit the building, the young man engaged a fierce gun battle with the army, before Israeli soldiers fired “Energa” anti-tank grenades at the shop, killing the young Maskawi.
It is important to mention that the slain young man is a former detainee having spent 22 months in occupation prison; the army confiscated his body and took it to an unknown location.
Additionally, another young man sustained a live gunshot wound to the leg during the confrontations; he was transported to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital suffering moderate wounds.
Sources added that occupation forces abused and abducted the young man, Islam Mustafa Abu Bakr, taking him to an unknown location; the nature and severity of his injuries were not known at the time of writing this report.
The Arab 48 News website reported that Israeli soldiers forced Palestinian families, including women and children, to leave their homes in the Al-Naqqar neighborhood in the city.
