Israeli soldiers attacked, Friday, the weekly nonviolent procession against the Annexation Wall and Colonies in Ni’lin village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, causing dozens of Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.
The procession started from the center of the village, and headed towards the illegal Annexation Wall, isolating the villagers from their own lands, before the soldiers started firing a barrage of gas bombs, concussion grenades, and rubber-coated steel bullets.
Medical sources said dozens of residents suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, and a few others sustained cuts and bruises; they all received the needed treatment without the need for hospitalization.
Some of the concussion grenades and gas bombs caused many trees and farmlands to catch fire before Palestinian firefighters rushed to extinguish them.
The nonviolent protesters were carrying Palestinian flags, and marched while chanting against Israel’s escalating violations, including its illegal annexation plans.
