According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Israeli forces shot the young man, Moataz Khaled Sadiq Al-Nabulsi, 28, with live ammunition, and injured nine others; all of whom were transported to Rafidia Hospital in the city.
The Ministry of Health announced that they were informed by the General Authority for Civil Affairs who said that soldiers killed the young man, Adam Salah al-Din Mansour Farraj, 23, and confiscated his body.
Media sources said that occupation forces invaded the eastern region of the city of Nablus, on Monday afternoon, from several directions, and positioned soldiers on Al-Quds Street and near the Balata refugee camp, east of the city, sparking protests.
It was added that occupation forces deployed sharpshooters on the rooftops of citizens’ homes, while soldiers fired many live rounds, tear gas canisters, and concussion grenades, while armed resistance fighters exchanged fire with the invading army.
Initially it was reported that Israeli forces shot ten Palestinian citizens with live rounds, including one who was shot in the shoulder, two in the hand, one in the shoulder and the pelvis, one in the pelvis, and a 13-year-old child was shot in the foot, among others.
Occupation forces stopped and detained a PRCS ambulance which was transporting a seriously injured young man to hospital, and contact was subsequently lost with the ambulance crew.
Arab 48 News website said that the PRCS received the seriously injured young man at the Awarta military roadblock, after soldiers had abducted him from the ambulance, adding that he had sustained gunshot wounds to his legs.
Arab 48 quoted Israeli Police who claimed that undercover Israeli agents (Musta’ribeen) assassinated “one of the most wanted men in Nablus and wounded a number of gunmen,” referring to the slain, Farraj.
On Monday evening, Palestinians in Nablus gathered in front of the Rafidia Hospital to receive the body of the slain young man, Moataz Khaled Sadiq Al-Nabulsi, 28.
Mourners carried the body of the slain young man on their shoulders towards the Martyrs’ Roundabout, and laid him to rest in the Eastern Cemetery in Nablus.
Israeli forces have now killed 526 Palestinian civilians, including 132 children, while 20 Palestinians have been killed by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since the beginning of the military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
