Israeli occupation forces uprooted dozens of olive trees on Wednesday morning from agricultural lands belonging to the towns of Yamun and Araqa, west of Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
According to Yamun Mayor Ibrahim Khmaysa, Israeli bulldozers stormed the area, razed farmland owned by a local resident, and destroyed agricultural structures on-site. They also targeted an adjacent plot belonging to a resident of Arraka.
Khmaysa stated that the landowners had received prior military notices six months ago warning them that the trees would be uprooted and the land returned to its “previous state.”
As of about midday, six Israeli bulldozers were still operating in the area, and more than 50 olive trees had already been uprooted.
Khmaysa added that Israeli forces had sealed off the site and barred landowners and residents from accessing their property.
This attack is part of a broader pattern constant violations and destruction carried out by Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank, often under the pretext of military orders or colonialist expansion.
Olive trees, deeply rooted in Palestinian heritage and livelihood, continue to be targeted in what local officials and rights groups describe as acts of ecological and economic warfare.
