Illegal Israeli colonizers killed a Palestinian young man and critically injured his brother on Saturday, during an attack in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.

Osama Makhamra, a local anti-settlement activist told the WAFA News Agency that Israeli settlers shot two brothers with live rounds while they were near their home in Khirbet Wadi al-Rakheem in Masafer Yatta.

Medical sources identified the slain young man as 28-year-old Amir Mohammad Shanaran, adding that his brother Khaled Muhammad Shanaran,33, sustained critical gunshot wounds.

Sources reported that armed colonizers from the illegal “Susya” settlement, built on expropriated Palestinian lands, opened fire towards civilians, resulting in the death of Amir Muhammad Shanaran and the life-threatening injuries of his brother.

Media sources reported that several of the brothers’ family members sustained injuries in addition to others when they attempted to confront the attacking settlers.

The settlers assaulted the young mens’ father who sustained head injuries and bruises, their aunt sustained a fractured leg, and their uncle and two cousins also sustained bruises after settlers beat them.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission four Palestinians have been killed by illegal Israeli settlers since the beginning of this year, while 40 have been killed since the beginning of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

In related news, Israeli colonizers shot and killed two Palestinian brothers and wounded three others on Monday, after invading the village of Qaryout, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Mohammad Taha Abdel-Majeed Muammar, 51, was killed after settlers shot him in the head, while his brother Fahim Taha Abdul Majeed Muammar, 48, was killed after he sustained a live gunshot wound to the pelvis.

On Tuesday, armed paramilitary settlers shot two Palestinian young men with live ammunition after infiltrating the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, occupation forces and settlers have killed 1122 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 232 children and 24 women.

In the Jenin governorate, 310 Palestinians have been killed, while 213 were killed in Tulkarem, 144 in Nablus, 110 in Hebron, 98 in Tubas, 82 in Ramallah, 62 in Jerusalem, 44 in Qalqilia, 36 in Bethlehem, 15 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, and 8 in Salfit, according to the Shireen Observatory.
