On Friday, illegal Israeli colonizers uprooted hundreds of olive trees and razed lands in the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.
Marwan Sabah, the head of the Umm Safa village council told the WAFA News Agency that Israeli settlers uprooted at least 500 olive trees and paved a dirt road connecting the near by illegal settlements of “Halamish” and “Ateret”.
Sabah added that for the past four days, colonizers under the protection of the occupation army, have been razing Palestinian-owned lands in the southern region, seizing hundreds of dunams of land.
He stated that the illegal settlers intend to force Palestinians off their land in order to facilitate the establishment of a large colonial settlement complex on stolen land.
Sabah appealed to the President and Prime Minister and other Palestinian leaders to urgently intervene to halt all colonial endeavours and protect the people of Umm Safa village from forced displacement and settler terrorism.
He called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow foreign diplomats and international human rights organizations to visit the village to witness the destruction and suffering caused by the illegal colonizers.
In related news, illegal Israeli colonizers assaulted several Palestinians in the Salfit and Ramallah governorates, in the central part of the occupied West Bank, while occupation soldiers detained others.
