On Wednesday, Day 187 of the ongoing Israeli genocide of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Israeli missiles killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, including three sons and two grandchildren of Hamas political leader, Ismail Haniyya.

Media sources said that, on the first day of the Al-Fitr Muslim feast that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a car carrying members of Haniyya’s family in the Shati’ refugee camp, in Gaza City, killing three of his sons, Hazem, Amir and Mohammad, and two of his grandchildren.

It is worth mentioning that, on November 21, 2023, the army killed Haniyya’s oldest grandson, Jamal Mohmmad Haniyya, and his daughter. On November 10, the army killed Haniyya’s grandchild, Ro’a Hammad, after firing missiles at their homes.

The Israeli army said its Airforce and the Southern Command received detailed information from the Shabak security agency regarding their location and assassinated them.

Israeli sources said there is a possibility now, after the assassination of Haniyya’s family, that any possible ceasefire talks, and a prisoner-swap deal could now be hindered.

Ismael Haniyya, currently in Doha, told Al-Jazeera that that Israel has already killed at least sixty members of his family, including cousins, nephews, and nieces, and added that all Palestinians in Gaza have paid a heavy price, but is determined to create a better future, achieve liberation and independence.

At least five Palestinians, including children, were killed and many were injured after the army fired a missile at a car in the Shati refugee camp.

The army also killed at least three Palestinians and wounded many others in an air strike targeting a car in the refugee camp.

Furthermore, Mahmoud Basal, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, said the Israeli army buried the bodies of dozens of Palestinians under the rubble inside the Shifa Medical Center in Gaza, and added that the teams are working on recovering them.

The Israeli navy also fired dozens of missiles at various areas in the western part of Gaza City.

The Israeli army also fired a missile at the home of the Abu Yousef family in Nusseirat, killing at least fourteen Palestinians and wounding dozens, in addition to many who remain under the rubble.

The army also fired many missiles and artillery shells at areas, east of the Al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army killed and injured many Palestinians, especially in the western part of the city, and bombed several homes and buildings in Abasan, east of the city.

In northern Gaza, the army killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, as they had their iftar outside Jabalia school for girls.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the corpses of 122 Palestinians, in addition to at least 56 wounded were moved to hospitals in the last 24 hours and added that dozens of slain Palestinians remain under the rubble.

Francesca Albanese, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, said that Israel’s leadership and its soldiers are violating the principles of International Law, and are using terms like “human shields” and “safe zones” to justify the killing of civilians.

Albanese also called for banning the export of weapons to Israel and to impose economic sanctions to oblige Tel Aviv to abide by International Law and the Geneva Conventions.

She added that Israel has been committing war crimes for decades and continues to do so because no one has stopped it.

It added that Israel has now killed at least 33.482 Palestinians, mostly children and women, and injured more than 76.049, since October 7, 2023.

The Palestinian Civil Defense said at least 20.000 slain Palestinians remain buried under the rubble, including about 10.000 in northern Gaza.
