On Thursday, Day 223 of the ongoing genocide, Israeli missiles and shells killed dozens of Palestinians, and injured many more, including women and children, in several parts of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli tanks continued the bombing of Rafah, in the southmost part of the Gaza Strip, by bombing many buildings, and are also attempting to advance further in Jabalia, in northern Gaza, and withdrew from the Zeitoun neighborhood after invading it six days earlier.
Medical sources said the army fired a missile at a home for the Al-Halqawi family in Rafah, killing four Palestinians and wounding several others.
The Palestinians were killed and injured when the Israeli tanks advanced into the eastern graveyard area, the Al-Arab Mall, and the Salam neighborhood, east of Rafah.
Also, many Palestinians were injured when the army fired missiles at tents where families tried to shelter in the northwestern area of Rafah.
One Palestinian was killed, and several others were injured, by Israeli missiles at the Al-Awda Junction in Rafah.
In related news, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its fighters exchanged fire with Israeli soldiers and targeted their tanks and armored vehicles with heavy mortar shells while advancing into areas around the Salam neighborhood, east of Rafah.
In Gaza City, the army killed four Palestinians and injured several others in the Al-Jala’ Street area, southwest of the city, in addition to killing and wounding several Palestinians in the Sabra neighborhoods in the city.
Medical sources said the corpses of thirty Palestinians, including ten children, were moved to the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, after a series of Israeli airstrikes at dawn in several parts of the city, especially in Abu Iskandar, Sidra, and Sahaba areas. The homes are for Al-Ghafri, Jahjouh and Ad-Dalo.
After the army withdrew from the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza, the extent of destruction became apparent, as the Israeli missiles and shells destroyed at least 200 homes, and five centers were families sheltered, causing dozens of casualties, and only later that the Palestinian rescue teams were able to recover the corpses of more than 20 additional Palestinians from under the rubble.
Furthermore, the army fired many missiles and shells are several areas in the Abasan village, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
In Central Gaza, many Palestinians were injured when the army fired a missile at an apartment in residential tower six in Ein Jalout in the eastern part of the Nusseirat refugee camp.
In related news, the Israeli army fired many artillery shells at the areas between Al-Mughraqa, the Zahra’ city, the northern area of the Nusseirat refugee camp, and Wadi Gaza.
The Israeli army fired many missiles and shells at homes and buildings in many areas in northern Gaza, killing and wounding many Palestinians.
The army also killed a Journalist, Mahmoud Jahjouh, along with several members of his family, after firing a missile at his home in northern Gaza.
Furthermore, the army also killed another journalist, Hayel Najjar, along with several members of his family in the Old Gaza Street in Jabalia.
Fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas said they targeted an armored military vehicle, carrying many soldiers, with a Yassin Rocket, killing and wounding many soldiers in Bloc 2 in Jabalia refugee camp.
On Thursday, the Israeli army announced the death of five of its soldiers who were killed when an Israeli tank fired two shells near them.
The Israeli army said that an initial investigation revealed that the five soldiers were killed by fire from Israeli tanks, stationed dozens of meters away, and added that the soldiers were part of a force that occupied several buildings along what it called a “logistic route” in northern Gaza.
The army added that it is investigating why the shell was fired at them, and whether the soldiers were mistakenly identified as Palestinian fighters.
On Wednesday, the Israeli army said five of its soldiers were killed and sixteen were injured when they entered a building in Jabalia, in northern Gaza, before Palestinian fighters, who had previously wired the building, detonated it.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its fighters monitored the soldiers who fortified themselves in a home in the Jabalia refugee camp, before they detonated it, and also targeted another military force that rushed to the aid of the soldiers in the said building.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the army committed five massacres against Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip in the least 24 hours, killing at least sixty Palestinians and wounding more than 80.
Israel has now killed at least 35.233 Palestinians, including more than 15.103 children and 9.961 women, and injured more than 79.141, in several parts of the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
