Updated: On Wednesday, Day 229 of the ongoing genocide, the Israeli army continued the bombing and shelling of  various parts of the destroyed Gaza Strip, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians, including many women and children across the coastal enclave.

  • The army fired a missiles at an apartment in the Al-Quds Street, west of Rafah.
  • Five Palestinians killed, and seven injured, by Israeli missiles in Rafah.
  • The number of slain Palestinians killed by Israeli missiles that targeted a home in the Zawaida town, in central Gaza, has reached seventeen, dozens injured.
  • An Israeli missile targeted a Palestinian home in the Al-Joren junction, in Jabalia town, in northern Gaza, killing five Palestinians and wounding several others.

Media sources said the army fired dozens of artillery shells at the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, causing many casualties who were rushed to the Baptist Hospital in the city.

The army also fired missiles at homes in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, killing at least two Palestinians and wounding many others.

Furthermore, the soldiers fired many live rounds at home in nortehrn Gaza, killing several Palestinains, including a child, Tamer Mahmoud Al-Umssi, 1.

Media sources said the army bombarded and shelled many areas in the southern and northern areas of Gaza City.

In Jabalia, in northern Gaza, at least six Palestinians were killed and six were injured when the army fired a missile from a plane at a home for the Abu Zaida family in the Al-Falouja area, in the city.

The Israeli army continued the siege on the Al-Awda Hospital in Tal Az-Za’atar, east of Jabalia refugee camp, after forcing the patients and medical staff out of the facility.

The army also fired many shells and missiles in various parts of the refugee camp, killing six Palestinians in a home for the Abu Zaida family in Be’er An-Na’ja area, in the southern part of the refugee camp, and in various parts of Beit Lahia,

In Central Gaza, at least ten Palestinians, were killed and many were injured when the army fired a missile at a shed where families tried to shelter in the Zawaida town before they were moved to the Al-Aqsa Hospital in nearby Deir Al-Balah.

Among the slain Palestinian is a pregnant woman, whose fetus died despite a C-section surgery after she was killed, and the efforts to save his life.

Also, in Zawaida, nine Palestinians from the Nofal family were killed, and several others were injured after the army fired a missile at their home.

In addition, several casualties were reported when the army fired shells at the eastern areas of the Nusseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said several Palestinians were injured when the army fired a missile at a home in the Al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

In Rafah, in the southmost part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired a missile at a home for the Farahat family in the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood, west of the city, killing five and wounding many others, before the medics rushed them to the nearby Kuwaiti Specially Hospital.

In addition, the army fired many artillery shells at the central and eastern areas of Rafah, while military drones fired live rounds at Palestinians in the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah.

It is worth mentioning that, for the sixteenth day, the army continued the closure of the Rafah Border Terminal with Egypt and the Salem commercial crossing, south and southeast of Rafah, depriving Gaza of urgently needed medical and humanitarian supplies, and preventing the wounded and the patients from being transferred to hospitals in Egypt and elsewhere.

The Israeli army destroyed and occupied the Rafah Border Terminal on May 7th, and Karem Abu Salem Commercial Crossing on May 5th, and has since denied the entry of more than 3000 trucks filled with humanitarian and medical aid and prevented the travel of at least 700 patients and wounded Palestinians.

UNRWA warned that the continued closures of the crossings are increasing the suffering of the Palestinians and will lead to a bigger humanitarian disaster.

UNRWA stated that over time families are displaced, face increasing risks, and must leave everything behind, looking for a safer area, and added that there are no safe areas in the entire Gaza Strip.

Israel has now killed at least 35.647, mostly women and children, and injured more than 79.852, in addition to the thousands who remain under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings in several parts of the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
