Medical sources in Gaza said there are about 25.000 patients and wounded Palestinians who require urgent transfer to hospitals outside the Gaza Strip, however, Israel continues the closure of the Rafah Border Terminal with Egypt, posing serious risks to their lives.
The sources said only 4895 patients and wounded Palestinians managed to leave the Gaza Strip when the border terminal was open before Israel destroyed and occupied it on May 12, and added that since then no one was allowed to leave Gaza.
It is worth mentioning that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, called for an investigation into the deadly Israeli strike on a UNRWA school in Gaza, leading to the deaths of more than 40 Palestinian civilians, and dozens of injuries.
Borel said on his X account, “Reports coming from Gaza time and again show that violence and suffering are still the only reality for hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. This appalling news must be independently investigated, in line with the last ICJ order.”
United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, also condemned the Israeli bombing of the UNRWA school where displaced families sheltered, and described the attack as another horrifying example of the price civilians are paying.”
Guterres’s spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, said the attack is “just another horrific example of the price that civilians are paying, that Palestinian men, women and children who are just trying to survive [are paying].”
Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN chief, addressed reporters, stating that the attack is “just another horrific example of the price that civilians are paying, that Palestinian men, women & children who are just trying to survive, who are being forced to move around in sort of a death circle around Gaza, trying to find safety, are paying.”
“Of course, he condemns this attack. There will need to be accountability for everything that has happened in Gaza,” Dujarric added.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the army committed six massacres against Palestinian families, Thursday, killing 70 and wounding 235, including women and children.
It added that Israel has now killed at least 36.564 Palestinians, and injured more than 83.308, mostly women and children, in addition to the thousands who remain missing, largely under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, in alleys and on streets, in various parts of the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
