9-year-old Mayar and 6-year-old Bilal killed today, along with their mother and grandmother, when it bombed a UN school where they were seeking refuge. They were just children seeking shelter from Israeli bombs.

Update as of 10 pm on Saturday, day 275 of Israel’s assault on Gaza:

The Israeli bombardment continued in eastern, central and southern Gaza following the Israeli massacre of Palestinian civilians sheltering in a school in the Nuseirat camp in the middle of the Strip. Medical sources report that the number of Palestinians killed since dawn today has risen to 27, following the retrieval of the bodies of 3 deceased whose hands were tied and who were shot execution-style by the Israeli occupation army after being released east of Rafah.

9-year-old Mayar and 6-year-old Bilal were identified among those killed at the school, along with their mother and grandmother, when Israel bombed a UN school where the family was seeking refuge.

They were just children seeking shelter from Israeli bombs.

Also Saturday, a number of Palestinian civilians were killed when Israeli warplanes bombed a house in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip. Medical sources reported that 10 were killed and dozens were injured, in addition to a number of missing people under the rubble, after the Israeli occupation forces targeted a house in the Jabalia Al-Nazla area, north of the Gaza Strip.

A woman was also killed and three of her children were injured when the occupation forces bombed a house in the Musbah area, north of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip. The occupation artillery bombed the east of Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

In addition, medical sources told Al Jazeera that a 6-year-old child died in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip due to malnutrition. At least 41 children have died of malnutrition in Gaza since Israeli forces cut off aid.

The child died as a result of malnutrition, dehydration, and lack of medical supplies, in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Medical sources had previously announced that fifty children are being treated for malnutrition and famine in the northern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources at Kamal Adwan Hospital announced that symptoms of malnutrition were recorded in more than 200 children in the Gaza Strip, and that a humanitarian disaster is facing the northern Gaza Strip.

The population of the northern Gaza Strip, numbering about 700,000, is suffering from a severe shortage of food and vegetables, as a result of Israel’s continued closure of the border crossings and the failure of trucks to enter the north, which brings the “spectre of famine” back to the forefront, according to local officials and international organizations.

Several hospitals are being forces to shut down due to a lack of supplies and power, as the Israeli assault on hospitals and medical personnel continues. This includes the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the north, Nasser Hospital in the south and the European Hospital in central Gaza. The largest hospital in Gaza, the Al-Aqsa Hospital, was completely destroyed during an Israeli takeover of the hospital for three weeks in April, when over 300 Palestinians were killed, including patients, doctors and civilians who had sought shelter there. Israeli claims that ‘Hamas was operating in the hospital’ were shown to be completely false, as there was no evidence of any resistance fighters having a base in or near the hospital.

Medical crews at the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City evacuated the wounded on Sunday evening, after the Israeli occupation forces warned them to evacuate areas in the neighborhoods of Al-Daraj, Al-Tuffah and the Old City east of the city.

A medical source inside the hospital told Anadolu Agency that medical teams evacuated the wounded and sick from the hospital to hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip.

The source explained that Israeli Quadcopter drones flew intensively around the hospital and opened fire at the citizens, which prompted the medical crews to evacuate the hospital.

Earlier on Sunday, the occupation’s aircraft and artillery targeted areas east of Gaza City, resulting in the injury of dozens of citizens and the displacement of thousands of families, coinciding with the occupation army’s call for residents to evacuate their homes in those areas.

Among those targeted in the latest Israeli airstrikes was the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor, Engineer Ihab Al-Ghussein, who was killed along with his wife and children in an Israeli bombing that targeted Gaza City.

These attacks have intensified over the past few days, coinciding with Israeli protests against Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Tens of thousands continue to protest in the streets of Tel Aviv demanding a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas and the dismissal of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. These demonstrations included dozens of road blockades in several areas of Israel in what was called the “Day of the Great Paralysis.”

Meanwhile, other Israelis have continued to sabotage, attack and destroy food and aid supplies headed into Gaza.

UN official Philippe Lazzarini (@UNLazzarini) commented on last night’s school massacre by Israeli forces:

“Once again,  @UNRWA school hit by the Israeli Forces. The school, in the Middle Areas, was home to nearly 2,000 internally displaced, dozens of casualties were reported. Since the war began, nine months ago today: – More than half (or 190) of @UNRWA facilities have been hit, some multiple times, some directly. – As a result, 520 people were killed and nearly 1,600 were injured while seeking some safety. Too many were women and children.

“A re-occurring claim (among others) from Israel is that our facilities are being used by Palestinian armed groups. These are claims that I take very seriously. It is exactly why I have repeatedly called for independent investigations to ascertain the facts & identify those responsible for attacks on UN premises or their misuse. Those responsible must be held accountable for violating international law. Nine months on this brutal war, I call once again for a #ceasefire under which people in Gaza and Israel would finally get respite & protection + all hostages would be immediately released. The longer this war goes on, the deeper the rift will become, & the more suffering people will endure. Enough is enough.”

In addition, an Israeli airstrike in the middle of the Gaza Strip led to the killing of three on the Wadi Gaza Bridge and the injury of others who were transferred to the Al-Awda Hospital.

Medical sources reported that two Palestinians were killed, as a result of the Israeli occupation’s bombing that targeted a gathering of citizens in the vicinity of Shafut Restaurant in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City .

For the second time in a row, the occupation warplanes targeted the Holy Family School in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza, destroying parts of it.

Also, a Palestinian was killed by the Israeli occupation’s artillery shelling near the Golden Hall, west of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip.

Day 275 in Gaza: The Killing Continues, Israel Again Bombs Palestinian Refugees

Published on: Jul 7, 2024 at 10:01

As the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip enters its tenth month on Sunday July 7th, Israel has dropped almost 75,000 bombs and shells on Gaza in the past 275 days. This is twenty times more than the US aimed at Iraq in six years of war, and marks the world’s 200 bloodiest days since the Rwandan genocide. As international human rights attorney Craig Mokhiber put it, “Israel is committing torture & sexual abuse, summary executions, collective punishment, extermination, record murder of children, humanitarians, medical personnel, and journalists, the destruction of hospitals, schools, churches, mosques, and ethnic cleansing. Leaders are declaring genocidal intent. Soldiers are gleefully recording their own atrocities.”

The UN has reported that displaced people in Gaza (90% of the population of 2.24 million people) are suffering from a stifling water crisis, with no potable water in most parts of Gaza.

The Euro-Med Monitor issued a report that Israel is using water as a weapon of war, saying “Through persistent, systematic, and widespread targeting of the Gaza Strip’s water sources and desalination plants, Israel is using water as a weapon against Palestinian civilians. In addition to imposing famine, Israel is deliberately reducing the amount of water available to residents of the Strip—especially potable water sources—intentionally targeting the over 2.3 million people who live there as part of its genocide, ongoing since last October.”

Meanwhile the Israeli bombardment continued unabated — after a horrific day on Saturday in which Israeli forces bombed a UN warehouse of food and supplies, killing 9 civilians including aid workers, then bombed a school housing internally displaced refugees, killing fifteen children, the bombardment continued in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, day 275 of the Israeli assault. Six Palestinians were killed and a number of others were injured on Sunday morning, in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the central Gaza Strip.

“We estimate that nine in every 10 people in the Gaza Strip have been internally displaced at least once, if not up to 10 times, unfortunately, since October,” says head of the UN humanitarian agency, OCHA,

Eyewitnesses reported that 6 civilians were killed and others were injured, after the Israeli occupation bombed the house of the Jawada family in the town of Al-Zawayda in the central governorate of the Gaza Strip.

Journalist Yousef al-Jamal reported that his relative was killed along with her four children by Israeli bombardment this morning.

Three civilians were killed on Sunday morning in Israeli shelling, west of Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a house in the Mina neighborhood, west of Gaza City, which led to the killing of three citizens.

The Israeli occupation artillery also bombed the vicinity of the prisoners’ towers west of Nuseirat, while the occupation helicopters fired heavy fire east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that four citizens were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a residential apartment in the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City. Meanwhile, the Israeli artillery continued to shell the north of Al-Bureij camp and the vicinity of the Gaza Valley Bridge north of the central governorate.

The Israeli occupation forces also launched a new raid on sites north of the Nuseirat camp, which resulted in the injury of 4 citizens.

In addition, the occupation warplanes destroyed the Khan Yunis post office building after bombing it with several missiles, which resulted in the injury of 3 citizens and the outbreak of fire in a number of displaced people’s tents.

The occupation forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in the killing of 38,098 Palestinians and the injury of 87,705 others, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, where ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.
