Following a horrific massacre in which Israeli forces killed 90 civilians in al-Mawasi ‘safe area’ on Saturday afternoon, Israeli forces did not cease their relentless and ongoing bombardment of civilian areas in different parts of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, day 282 of Israel’s attack on Gaza.

Update – 11:46 pm:

15 Palestinian civilians were killed, most of them children and women, and dozens were injured on Sunday afternoon, in an Israeli occupation bombing that targeted Abu Oreiban School affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat camp, which houses a large number of displaced persons.

The strike on the UN-run Abu Araban school shelter in central Gaza’s Nuseirat camp was the fifth on a school-turned-shelter in eight days.

The Abu Araban school was housing “thousands of displaced people”, according to civil defence agency spokesman Mahmud Bassal, who added that most of the dead were women and children.

A civilian was also killed and others were injured as a result of the occupation bombing of the Al-Mashrou’ area east of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip, when the Israeli occupation aircraft targeted civilians’ homes north of the new camp area north of Al-Nuseirat camp, which resulted in a number of martyrs and wounded.

Also, the Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a house in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, and another house northeast of the Nuseirat camp in the central Strip, while a drone fired bullets at citizens east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

Media sources said the army fired shells at areas near the Rafah Border Terminal, in Gaza’s southernmost part, killing at least two Palestinians.

It is worth mentioning that Israel destroyed and occupied the terminal on May 7, and has since been refusing to allow the entry of humanitarian aid from the Egyptian side.

The closure of the terminal also meant that patients and wounded Palestinians are unable to be moved out of the destroyed coastal enclave.

A correspondent with the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that ambulance crews recovered the bodies of 4 Palestinians who had been killed, along with a number of injured people after the Israeli military bombed a house belonging to the Haji family in the vicinity of Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza City. The victims were transferred to the Baptist Hospital in the city.

The Wafa news correspondent added that the body of a Palestinian civilian was recovered, and 4 injured people were transferred to the Indonesian hospital after the Israeli occupation aircraft targeted the Abu Yousef family home in the Abu Iskandar area in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza City near the town of Beit Lahia.

Medical crews also transferred 5 people injured as a result of an airstrike by the Israeli occupation forces that targeted the house of the Sharab family in the Al-Salam neighborhood, south of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, to Nasser Hospital in the city.

Ambulance crews retrieved the body of a Palestinian who was killed, after the Israeli occupation bombed the house of the Toman family in the Abu Mahadi area in Nuseirat and transferred him to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat camp.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation forces committed a massacre in Mawasi Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of 90 citizens, half of whom were children and women, and the injury of 300 others.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) said in the aftermath of the Israeli attacks on Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, leading to the death of at least 90 Palestinians and more than 300 wounded, that there are still many Palestinians who remain under the rubble of bombarded homes.

Israel Prime Minister said the army bombarded Al-Mawasi to assassinate the head of Hamas’ military branch, Mohammad Deif, but could not be sure whether Deif was killed, however, he added that the “tempted assassination was beneficial to Israel,” Al-Jazeera English said.

The death toll from the massacre committed by the occupation in the Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City, rose to 20 martyrs and dozens of wounded, after a prayer hall near the White Mosque in the camp was targeted.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 38,443 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of more than 88,481 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble.
