On Wednesday, Day 37 of the renewed Israeli military offensive on the devastated, starved, and besieged Gaza Strip since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18th.

The following are documented attacks by the Israeli military against Palestinian civilians in Gaza on Wednesday April 23, 2025:

Mayan Mohammad Dahliz, the only child of her parents, born after seven years of waiting, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Ex-Palestinian detainee Ali Al-Sarafiti was murdered along with his wife, and children in an Israeli airstrike targeting his home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza, early this morning.

Three Palestinian civilians, including a journalist, were killed Wednesday evening in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent said that journalist Saeed Abu Hassanein was killed along with his wife and daughter in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Bi’a Street in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.

8:50 pm

Two Palestinian citizens were killed and others injured when the Israeli occupation forces targeted a group of citizens in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.

Medical sources announced that the death toll from the ongoing airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza Strip since dawn today has risen to 37.

6 Palestinians were killed, including a woman and 4 children, in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northern Gaza City.

A Palestinian man describes what happened amid the rubble in Khan Yunis, where an Israeli airstrike killed a mother and her two children.

The missile struck without warning near Nasser Medical Complex, instantly killing Issam Ahmad, Siwar Ahmad, and their mother, Dalia al-Jamal.

5:35 pm

Two Palestinians were killed and others injured after an Israeli strike targeted a family’s tent in the Al-Sawariha area, west of Al-Nuseirat in central Gaza Strip.

4:12 pm

The twin sisters, Saba and Sana, both 4 years old, were killed together in an Israeli strike on their home in Al-Tuffah neighborhood, eastern Gaza.

12:18 pm

Medical sources reported that at least twenty-four Palestinians had been killed, with many others wounded across the coastal enclave. Fifteen of the slain Palestinians were killed in northern Gaza.

Israeli military drones fired missiles at a school, housing displaced families in the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. The army also fired barrages of artillery shells at areas northeast of Al-Bureij refugee camp.

A day earlier, the Israeli army killed two children, Salma Nabulsi and Rimas Miqdad during an attack on a group of civilians in Al-Nuseirat, in central Gaza Strip.

Many casualties were reported in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Sha’ban family home in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

Medics recovered the bodies of three Palestinians and rescued multiple injured residents. However, search operations for survivors continue despite extremely limited resources and ongoing attacks.

Also, ten Palestinians, including a child, Were killed in the bombing of the Jaffa School in Gaza City, and one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli drone attack on tents in al-Mawasi.

Furthermore, the army bombing a residential building in the Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza city, killing and wounding many Palestinians, while several residents remain under the rubble

The Palestinian Civil Defense has stated that its teams are unable to reach Palestinians trapped beneath the rubble in Gaza’s Tuffah neighborhood.

The Civil Defense has urged the International Committee of the Red Cross to intensify coordination with the Israeli army to ensure that medics and rescue teams can enter the affected areas.

However, continued destruction and restricted access have severely hampered relief efforts, leaving numerous wounded and missing civilians without assistance.

Adding to the humanitarian crisis, kidney dialysis patients in Gaza are struggling to access treatment, with hundreds succumbing to the worsening medical shortages.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health has strongly condemned the Israeli military’s attack on Al-Durra Children’s Hospital, located in eastern Gaza City.

The bombing inflicted significant damage on the intensive care unit and the alternative energy system, severely impacting the hospital’s ability to function.

The ministry emphasized that Israel’s actions go beyond depriving Gaza’s children of medicine and food, actively stripping them of their right to life.

It reiterated its call for international organizations to safeguard medical facilities and hold Israel accountable for its continued assaults on healthcare infrastructure.

Since October 7, 2023, more than 400 patients—representing 40% of kidney patients—have died due to the severe lack of medical supplies and treatment options.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate, with 60,000 children now exhibiting signs of malnutrition due to the prolonged blockade, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry spokesperson, Khalil Deqran.

The severe restrictions have prevented essential food and medical supplies from entering the enclave for nearly two months, deepening the suffering of civilians.

Since March 2, the Israeli military has maintained the deadly blockade, claiming it is meant to “pressure Hamas into releasing captives.” The military offensive resumed on March 18, further worsening conditions for Gaza’s residents.

The blockade has led to the shutdown of all 25 UN-supported bakeries, leaving aid organizations warning of widespread hunger and the risk of disease outbreaks.

The dire situation has prompted Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, to describe the blockade as collective punishment against Gaza’s population, calling for the lifting of the siege, unrestricted aid access, the release of hostages, and the resumption of a ceasefire.

The situation underscores the devastating impact of the blockade on Gaza’s healthcare system and the urgent need for international humanitarian intervention.

However, far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has voiced opposition to allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, claiming that such assistance “ultimately benefits Hamas.”

Smotrich has also criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of failing to enforce political directives on the military and arguing that strategic decisions should be more tightly controlled at the government level.

On his part, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz claimed that there is “no need for additional aid to be sent to Gaza,” asserting that “current supplies are sufficient.”

On the ground, the humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated significantly, leading to a devastating toll on its population, especially as more patients, including children, continue to die due to malnutrition and the lack of medical supplies.

Thousands of Palestinians, including children, have lost their lives due to severe food shortages and the lack of medical care, since October 7, 2023.

As hospitals struggle to function under extreme conditions, essential treatments remain unavailable, worsening the crisis.

Malnutrition and preventable illnesses continue to claim lives, particularly among vulnerable groups such as infants, pregnant women, and the elderly.

The ongoing blockade and restrictions on humanitarian aid have only intensified the suffering, leaving many without access to life-saving assistance.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military continues to target bulldozers, trucks, and other machinery used for rescue operations, hindering efforts to clear debris and reopen streets.

The Palestinian National Council has condemned the Israeli military’s recent deadly attacks on displaced persons’ tents in Jabalia and Yafa School in the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of many children and women. The council described these actions as “compound war crimes against humanity.”

In its statement issued on Wednesday, the council emphasized that the deliberate targeting of unarmed civilians in shelters represents an “escalation in genocidal policies and ethnic cleansing carried out by Israel’s far-right government.”

The council further criticized the international community’s silence, stating that it has evolved from mere complicity to active partnership in the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people. It warned of the grave consequences these ongoing atrocities could have on global peace and security.

The statement concluded with a call for the international community to uphold international treaties and humanitarian law, take immediate and serious action to end the aggression, protect innocent civilians, hold those responsible for these crimes accountable, and work toward ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.

A recent investigation by Israeli daily, Haaretz, has uncovered disturbing details about the Rafah attack, where Israeli forces deliberately targeted Palestinian medics and Civil Defense personnel.

According to materials collected by the Israeli military itself, soldiers fired directly and indiscriminately at ambulances and emergency vehicles, ignoring repeated attempts by rescue teams to identify themselves. The gunfire lasted three and a half minutes, with shots fired at close range, leading to the deaths of 12 humanitarian workers.

The report further indicates that soldiers reloaded multiple magazines during the assault, demonstrating the intensity of the attack despite the clear markings identifying the victims and their vehicles.

Additionally, the Israeli unit responsible had prior knowledge of heavy ambulance movement in the area but disregarded this information, striking vehicles that were traveling along an authorized and unrestricted route.

These revelations have sparked international condemnation, adding pressure on Israeli authorities as calls for accountability and justice grow louder.

The attack highlights a pattern of deliberate targeting of humanitarian workers, raising serious concerns about violations of international law and the protection of medical personnel in conflict zones.

Israel has now killed at least 51,291 Palestinians, including more than 15,626 children, 9,806 women, 235 journalists, and 23 medics. At least 116,991 people, mostly children, women, and the elderly, have been injured.

Thousands of Palestinians remain missing, largely trapped beneath the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, in destroyed streets and alleys across the coastal enclave.
