On Thursday, April 24, thirteen Palestinians were killed and others wounded in Israeli shelling of several areas in the Gaza Strip since dawn.
In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, six members of one family—a father, a mother, and their four children—were killed when the Israeli occupation forces bombed their home.
In central Gaza, three civilians were killed and others injured when Israeli forces shelled a tent housing displaced people from the Farajallah family in the al-Sawarah area, west of al-Nuseirat.
In Khan Yunis, a man and his wife were killed when the occupation forces bombed the home of the al-Najjar family in the Qizan al-Najjar area south of the city. Two children were also killed and others were injured when a tent housing displaced persons was bombed in the al-Attar area of Khan Yunis’ Mawasi district.
In northern Gaza on Thursday morning, ten Palestinians were reportedly murdered, including two brothers, with several injuries following the Israeli airstrikes that apparently targeted a police station in Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip, but which struck Jabalia al-Balad area, a densely populated market area.
Also Thursday morning, 12 Palestinian detainees arrived at Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, after being released from Israeli torture camps. They had been abducted during Israeli military invasions of the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmad Al-Farra, director of Al-Tahrir Hospital at Nasser Medical Complex, warns that Gaza’s children are now in the fifth and most dangerous stage of malnutrition, as defined by the World Health Organization.
The heartbreaking case of four-year-old Osama Al-Riqib—severely underweight and fighting to survive—reflects the silent suffering of thousands. With medicine, infant formula, and clean water in critically short supply, doctors are unable to provide even the most basic care.
Israel’s ongoing blockade is not just cutting off aid; it’s enforcing a deadly policy of starvation. According to the Government Media Office, 52 Palestinians, mostly children, have already died due to hunger and malnutrition. Israeli forces have targeted 28 community kitchens and 37 food distribution centers, turning aid into a battlefield.
According to medical sources, more than 17,000 children have been killed since the beginning of the occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 51,305, and the number of injuries to 117,096 since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.
