On the seventh day of renewed Israeli military onslaught in the starved, besieged, and devastated Gaza Strip, relentless bombing and shelling by the Israeli army resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Palestinians.
Media reports indicate that the heaviest bombardment targeted Khan Younis in southern Gaza, where Israeli forces carried out at least twelve airstrikes.
In the Ma’en area, east of Khan Younis, four Palestinians were killed, including the Director of Education for eastern Khan Younis, Manar Abu Khater, along with several members of his family, after a missile struck their home.
At least six Palestinians were killed, and many others injured when the army shelled a tent sheltering Sheikh Jamal Abu Samra, his wife, and multiple family members in the heavily bombarded Qizan Al-Rashwan area, south of Khan Younis. Additionally, six parked vehicles across Khan Younis were destroyed in separate attacks.
Medical sources confirmed that the Israeli army intensified its targeting of tents housing displaced families, killing at least twelve Palestinians, six of whom were in Khan Younis, and causing numerous injuries.
The Israeli army also bombed the second floor of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, killing Ismail Barhoum, a senior political leader of Hamas, who was receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a previous attack.
In central Gaza, two women were killed, and many others injured when a missile struck a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Israeli forces continued their siege on the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah, in Gaza’s southernmost region, forcing residents to evacuate along designated routes. During the evacuation, the army abducted many Palestinians and fired live rounds, resulting in additional casualties.
The Rafah Municipality stated that Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood is facing ethnic cleansing, as thousands of civilians remain trapped, subjected to constant bombing and shelling, without access to shelter, medicine, food, or clean water.
“Communication lines are completely severed in Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood,” the Municipality said in a statement, “Families in the area are left without access to water, food, or medicine, while healthcare services have completely collapsed.”
The statement further highlighted the deteriorating situation, noting that injured individuals are bleeding to death, and children are succumbing to hunger and thirst due to the ongoing siege and relentless bombardment.
Additionally, communication was lost with nine Palestinian Red Crescent Society medics and four civil defense personnel who had been dispatched to rescue victims trapped under rubble. Four additional fatalities were reported during the airstrikes.
In Gaza City’s Al-Shuja’iyya neighborhood, at least four Palestinians were killed, and several others injured in an airstrike targeting a residential home.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 41 Palestinians were killed and 61 injured in the past 24 hours, including two bodies recovered from the rubble.
Since March 18, 2025, when Israel resumed its bombing in Gaza, the death toll has risen to at least 673, with over 1,233 injuries.
Israel has now killed at least 50,021 Palestinians and injured more than 113,274, mostly children, women, and elderly, since October 7, 2023.
