In the southern West Bank city of Hebron, on Friday, Palestinians confronted Israeli soldiers at the point between the Israeli-occupied section of the city and that of the Palestinian-controlled section, Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
Local sources said that dozens of Palestinians suffered the toxic effects of tear-gas inhalation, after Israeli soldiers took over rooftops and fired tear-gas canisters at protestors.
According to Human Rights Defenders, Palestinian youths gathered to protest Israel’s impending annexation, while occupation forces stormed the center of Hebron, firing rubber-coated steel rounds, and concussion grenades in addition to tear-gas canisters towards protestors.
Israel announced its plan to expropriate a large portion of the Palestinian Jordan Valley, bringing it under Israeli sovereignty, a plan widely condemned and rejected by Palestinian leaders and civil society.
