On Wednesday, Day 138 of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of eight Palestinian patients after the besieged Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, ran out of fuel for its generators.
The Health Ministry said the surrounded, isolated, and repeatedly bombed medical center ran out of fuel for its power generators, an issue that stopped respiratory machines and other vital machines at the medical center.
It added that the corpses of the eight deceased patients are already swelling and showing early signs of decomposition, an issue that places serious health risks on the lives of patients, staff, and the families sheltering in the facility.
The Health Ministry said the Israeli soldiers, surrounding the medical facility, are refusing to allow removing the corpses and the burial of the deceased patients, and called on all related international organizations and human rights groups to intervene.
In related news, the army continued the bombing of the Gaza Strip, with the latest airstrikes targeting various areas, including a home in the New Refugee camp in Nusseirat, in central Gaza, causing casualties.
An Israeli drone also fired a missile at Palestinians in the Khirbat Al-Adas area in Rafah city, in the southmost part of the destroyed and impoverished coastal enclave.
In addition, the coordinator of Oxfam in Gaza said all aid teams are unable to reach the Palestinians in the northern parts of the Gaza Strip, called for ensuring the aid reaches without obstacles, and for a ceasefire to achieve that goal.
Israel has now killed at least 29,313 Palestinians, and injured 69,333, mostly women and children, in addition to thousands who remain under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, and on streets and in alleys, in many parts of the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
