An elderly Palestinian man died of a heart attack on Tuesday, while Israeli forces carried out a demolition operation in the village of Wadi Fukin, west of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank.

Media sources said that the elderly citizen, Ghazi Badr Mufreh Manasra (70 years old) died after suffering a heart attack when occupation forces assaulted the owners of the targeted homes.

According to the victim’s brother, Ghaleb Manasra, the army invaded the village early Tuesday morning to conduct a demolition operation against two homes belonging to family members.

He added that Israeli soldiers assaulted the owners of the two homes, resulting in Manasra, 70, suffering a fatal heart attack.


The director of the Independent Commission for Human Rights, Farid al-Atrash said that Manasra’s death was directly related to the harsh Israeli measures against Palestinian citizens.

Al-Atrash appealed to the International Community to intervene against the occupation’s attempts at forcibly displacing Palestinians from the West Bank.

Sources added that the army demolished the homes belonging to the citizens, Essam Bassem Manasra and Mohammed Nasser Manasra.

The WAFA News Agency reported that Israeli soldiers assaulted several Palestinians in the village, striking them with rifle butts and batons, wounding five with various injuries.

It added that the elderly Manasra suffered a stroke due to the stress of the Israeli attack, his death was announced later. All of the victims were transported to the Arab Society Hospital in Beit Jala for medical treatment.
