European Union foreign ministers reached a political agreement on Monday to impose a new round of sanctions targeting Israeli colonizers involved in attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, Reuters reported, citing four diplomats.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas confirmed the decision, saying “EU Foreign Ministers just gave the go-ahead to sanction Israeli settlers over violence against Palestinians. They also agreed new sanctions on leading Hamas figures. It was high time we move from deadlock to delivery. Extremisms and violence carry consequences.”
The sanctions list includes the Nahla (Nachala) Movement, which leads campaigns to establish new colonialist outposts and openly advocates re-settling the Gaza Strip, and Amana, one of the most influential organizations involved in building and expanding settlement outposts across the West Bank.
Also designated is Hashomer Yosh and its executive director Avihai Suissa. The group operates under the banner of “protecting Area C” and is involved in pursuing Palestinian residents and shepherding communities, while supporting settler‑run grazing outposts used in the forced displacement of Palestinian communities, particularly in the Jordan Valley and South Hebron Hills.
The EU also sanctioned the Regavim movement and its director Meir Deutsch, known for leading legal and media campaigns against Palestinian construction in the West Bank and in the Negev (Naqab).
The list further includes far‑right colonial activist Daniela Weiss, a long‑time figure in the settlement movement associated with colonialist expansion, incitement against Palestinians, and support for establishing new outposts.
