The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has issued a stark warning regarding plans to carve out a new corridor isolating East Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, from the West, an act it describes as an attempt to fragment the Gaza Strip, entrench the occupation, and intensify the humanitarian catastrophe facing Palestinian civilians.

The Israeli plan, according to the Ministry, involves confining residents into isolated zones under the guise of so-called “tent cities,” as a prelude to their forced displacement.

In its statement released Wednesday, the Ministry underscored that this strategy is unfolding alongside widespread destruction of remaining homes and infrastructure across central and southern Gaza.

Citing Hebrew-language media, the Ministry noted that approximately 70% of buildings in Gaza have been reduced to rubble.

The statement further stressed that the Israeli government is racing against time, using the prolonged war to render the entire Gaza Strip uninhabitable, either through mass displacement or systematic killings, as witnessed daily at sites dubbed “aid distribution centers.”

Furthermore, the Ministry condemned what it described as unjustifiable international inaction, warning that such silence undermines the credibility of nations and global institutions tasked with protecting civilians.

It called for depoliticizing humanitarian aid and ending the use of basic human necessities as leverage for coercion or exchange.
