The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the New York Declaration, adopted under the Saudi-French co-chairmanship of the international conference and its working groups.
The Ministry described the declaration as a “landmark development in global recognition of Palestinian statehood and the affirmation of Palestinian rights.”
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Ministry emphasized that this initiative represents “a critical shift toward achieving peace, security, and regional stability by ending the Israeli occupation and advancing the two-state solution.”
The Ministry praised the commitment of participating countries to undertake concrete, time-bound measures aimed at establishing a sovereign, viable, and independent Palestinian state, with robust political and economic backing.
These efforts align with international resolutions, the Madrid framework, the land-for-peace principle, and the Arab Peace Initiative, all anchored in resolving final-status issues and ensuring a just and lasting peace for the region.
It further welcomed the unprecedented international solidarity voiced during the conference, particularly “the call for enabling Palestine to fully exercise its legal and political authority over its entire territory, including the Gaza Strip.”
The Ministry thanked those countries that openly supported recognition of the State of Palestine, viewing it as essential to preserving the viability of the two-state framework and moving toward genuine peace.
The statement also underscored the moral responsibility of the international community to intervene, by stopping Israeli genocide and aggression, ensuring humanitarian access to Gaza, preventing forced displacement, and imposing an immediate ceasefire across all occupied Palestinian territories.
Additionally, the Ministry commended the pledges of financial and political support for the Palestinian government’s efforts in Gaza and the broader occupied territories, as well as the endorsement of the Arab-Islamic plan for recovery and reconstruction.
Calling the declaration and its eight associated action plans a strategic roadmap, the Ministry stressed that their effective implementation, across political, legal, economic, and security dimensions, would lay the foundations for lasting peace and regional stability.
In closing, the Ministry urged all states, whether present at the conference or not, to endorse the declaration. It described the initiative as a practical mechanism for building global momentum to turn diplomatic pledges into measurable action and to ensure that justice is not just promised, but upheld, for the Palestinian people.
