Five members of one family were killed early Friday morning when the Israeli occupation forces shelled their tent in Khan Younis.
A Wafa news correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation forces bombed a tent belonging to the Abu Ta’ima family in the Al-Mawasi area, killing a man, his pregnant wife, and their three children. He added that a 3-year-old child died from severe burns as a result of a fire that broke out in their tent in Mawasi, Khan Yunis.
The occupation forces also fired shells at the Qizan Rashwan neighbourhood, southwest of Khan Yunis.
The death toll in the Gaza Strip since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023, has risen to 51,355, and the number of injuries to 117,248. Although a ceasefire went into effect January 31, 2025, Israeli authorities broke the ceasefire March 18th, and have been relentlessly bombing Gaza day and night since then.
Also Friday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that its flour supplies in the Gaza Strip have run out, with only 250 food parcels left in its warehouses, two days ago .
In its latest update on the situation in the Gaza Strip, published on its website, UNRWA warned that the blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation on Gaza for more than 50 days is leading to a rapid depletion of essential humanitarian supplies, including food, fuel, medical aid, and children’s vaccines .
The Agency noted that since the ceasefire collapsed, the occupying forces have escalated their air, land, and sea bombardment of the Gaza Strip and expanded the scope of their ground operations, resulting in hundreds of casualties, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and widespread displacement.
