A Palestinian man and a child were killed, and another civilian was wounded, on Saturday amid ongoing Israeli violations in the central and southern parts of the devasted Gaza Strip.

Medical sources at al-Awda Hospital confirmed the death of Ahmad Nimir Nassar after an Israeli artillery shell struck near the Tel al-Akhdar area east of al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

Separately, a young man was shot and injured by Israeli forces in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

Later that evening, a child was killed in Khan Younis when an unexploded ordnance left by Israeli forces detonated. The child’s body was transferred to Nasser Medical Complex in the city.

On Saturday morning, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis, in yet another violation of the “ceasefire” agreement. The attacks targeted eastern neighborhoods in both cities, while Israeli artillery simultaneously shelled areas east of Khan Younis.

International aid organizations have repeatedly warned of the long-term threat posed by unexploded Israeli munitions across Gaza, describing the territory as a “terrifying minefield without a map” that could endanger civilians for decades.

Since the “ceasefire agreement” on October 11, at least 241 Palestinians have been killed and 614 wounded by Israeli forces who constantly breach the deal and continue their deadly violations.

Palestinian rescue teams have also recovered 522 bodies from the rubble, and 300 additional bodies have been returned by Israeli authorities, of which only 89 have been identified so far.

The overall death toll from Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza has now reached more than 69,169, the majority of them women and children, with more than 170,000 injured.

Among the slain Palestinians are 20,000 children in addition to 463 deaths due to starvation, including 157 children. More than 33,000 women and girls have been killed by Israel since October 7, 2023.
