Three Palestinians were killed and four others were injured on Wednesday in a series of Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and drone attacks across the devastated Gaza Strip, while civil defense teams recovered six bodies from under the rubble of homes destroyed in earlier bombardments, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed.
One man was killed and two others were wounded in an Israeli strike east of Deir al‑Balah, in central Gaza, on Wednesday evening.
Medical staff at Al‑Aqsa Hospital said the casualties arrived after Israeli forces targeted a group of civilians in the Abu al‑‘Ajeen area.
Earlier at dawn, a Palestinian was killed and several others were injured in Israeli attacks across multiple areas of the Strip. Medical sources identified the victim as Akram Hassan al‑‘Arjani, 27, who was killed in a strike on an area south of Khan Younis.
In northern Gaza, an Israeli quad‑copter drone shot and injured a civilian near Abu Hussein School, while a young woman was wounded by Israeli fire in the Qizan Abu Rashwan area south of Khan Younis.
Additional strikes and shelling were reported east of Gaza City, east of Khan Younis, and near the al‑Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, along with repeated gunfire from armored vehicles east of the Zeitoun neighborhood.
Heavy rainfall and a cold weather front caused widespread flooding and the collapse of tents sheltering displaced families across the Gaza Strip.
Hundreds of families issued urgent appeals after their tents were submerged or destroyed during the first major storm of the holy month of Ramadan.
Flooding also spread inside overcrowded shelters, raising fears of further collapses among already damaged structures.
Civil defense teams in Khan Younis reported rescuing several families after receiving distress calls from flooded displacement sites.
UNRWA warned that nearly two‑thirds of Gaza’s population is now living in tents that offer minimal protection from harsh weather, as Israeli restrictions continue to block the entry of new tents, mobile homes, and essential shelter materials.
