Three Palestinian citizens were injured on Monday morning after Israeli occupation forces opened fire east of Gaza City. The Health Ministry in Gaza also released the latest casualty updates.

Medical sources stated that Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition at civilians near the Shuja’iyya junction, causing injuries of varying severity.

In a separate incident, Israeli naval boats destroyed a fishing vessel belonging to two young men after heavily targeting it with gunfire off the coast of Sheikh Ejleen, southwest of Gaza City.

At night, the Israeli army fired several artillery shells at areas in Beit Lahia, in Gaza’s northern part.

In its daily casualty update on February 23, 2026, the Palestinian Health Ministry said:

Many victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them due to ongoing risks and limited capacity.
