Israeli occupation forces issued demolition orders on Wednesday targeting eight Palestinian commercial structures near the Arraba junction south of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, as part of an expanding pattern of military and colonial activity across the district.
Tareq Ighbariyya, head of the Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission office in Jenin, said Israeli soldiers, accompanied by crews from the so‑called “Civil Administration,” invaded the area, conducted field inspections among shops, workshops, agricultural facilities, and vehicle showrooms, and delivered demolition notices ordering owners to evacuate the structures within one week in preparation for large‑scale destruction.
He noted that the area serves as a major commercial and agricultural hub for the Jenin governorate, containing dozens of shops, industrial workshops, storage facilities, agricultural structures, and car dealerships.
Ighbariyya warned that the demolition orders form part of a broader Israeli colonial plan targeting the region.
The demolition notices come amid intensified Israeli military and colonial expansion in the Jenin district in recent months.
Israeli authorities have moved to re‑seize the former Arraba military base, evacuated by the army in 2005, while expanding works inside the illegal Tarsala colony south of the city.
Bulldozing operations have also been documented east of Jenin to establish a new military base and expand the illegal colonies of Ganim and Kadim, alongside construction of another military installation in the Jabriyat area of Jenin.
Israeli forces and illegal paramilitary colonizers have additionally cleared land and installed a new colonial outpost with caravans on a hill between Ya’bad and Arraba, established another outpost on lands belonging to Kafr Ra’ey, and erected three more outposts on lands belonging to Raba and Fuqqu’a east of Jenin.
Also Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces carried out widespread invasions, abductions, home searches, and movement restrictions across multiple districts of the occupied West Bank, targeting communities in Bethlehem, occupied Jerusalem, Ramallah, Salfit, Hebron, Jericho, Tubas, Tulkarem, Nablus, Jenin, and Qalqilia.
Furthermore, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers, backed by Israeli occupation forces, carried out multiple coordinated attacks on Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, injuring several residents, including children, and damaging property, while Israeli forces abducted two brothers during one of the assaults.
