Earlier Wednesday morning, the Israeli army assassinated five Palestinians in an airstrike near the Al-Tawhid Mosque in Tubas, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its crews retrieved the bodies of five Palestinians from the bombing site and moved them to the hospital in Tubas.

The PRCS added that the Israeli army invaded the city, closed streets, and obstructed the arrival of ambulances and crews at the targeted site.

The five slain Palestinians have been officially identified as:

  1. Mohammad Sa’id Hussein Sawafta, 19.
  2. Majd Burhan Jamil Sawafta, 23.
  3. Qais Saeb Rateb Sawafta, 24.
  4. Yassin Ahmad Ali Sawafta, 22.
  5. Tolba Mahmoud Jamil Bisharat, 18.

After assassinating the five Palestinians, the army carried out large-scale invasions of many neighborhoods in Tubas. The soldiers imposed a curfew on the city and spread to its northern areas, forcing the population into house arrest.

The soldiers also besieged the Turkish Governmental Hospital in Tubas, closing the roads leading to it and preventing ambulances from reaching the medical facility.

The invasion was accompanied by intensive flights of reconnaissance planes, armed drones, and attack helicopters at low altitudes over the city and the entire governorate.

Additionally, more military vehicles invaded and surrounded many areas and communities around Tubas, including Tammoun town, southeast of Tubas, amidst extensive and violent searches.

The attack is the latest in a series of deadly Israeli violations, including the destruction of homes, shops, streets, and infrastructure in Tubas and several parts of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources in Tubas reported that the massive presence of military vehicles, armored drones, and military helicopters flying over the city and various parts of the governorate, along with the closure and isolation of entire areas, indicates the possibility of a large-scale aggression on the governorate.

This assassination and the massive invasion are part of ongoing Israeli escalations in the occupied West Bank, which has recently witnessed wide-scale incursions and attacks in various Palestinian cities.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces killed two Palestinian citizens, including a woman, and injured at least eight others in Tulkarem, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank

Medical sources at the Tulkarem Governmental Hospital identified the slain citizens as Ahmad Jamal Ahmad Majdouba, 25, Heba Shahada Mosleh Halawa, 21.

Israel has now killed 699 Palestinians, including 159 children, 10 women, 1 journalist, 2 medics and 14 detainees, from the West Bank, since October 7, 2023.
