On Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded the Al-Burj area in the Northern Plains of the Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank and demolished residential structures.
Mo’taz Bisharat, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s colonialist activities in the Northern Plains, said several military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded the area after surrounding it.
Bisharat added that the army demolished two residential structures owned by Khalil Zawahra.
He stated that the army is still in the area, likely planning to demolish more structures, including barns.
It is worth mentioning that last month, the Israeli army conducted thirty-four demolition attacks targeting forty-five structures, including twelve inhabited homes, six uninhabited homes, and nineteen agricultural facilities, among others.
The occupation authorities also issued demolition orders for thirty-eight additional structures, including many homes, in various parts of the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.
Also on Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded Deir Dibwan town, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, before demolishing an agricultural room and a wall.
While Israel continues to build and expand its illegal colonies, Palestinian communities and towns in occupied Jerusalem and various areas in the occupied West Bank continue to be denied the right to build homes and property under various allegations meant to prevent the expansion of Palestinian towns and neighborhoods.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
