On Thursday, Israeli soldiers invaded Tulkarem city, in the northwestern portion of the occupied West Bank, and the adjacent Nur Shams refugee camp, east of the city, demolished an abandoned home, and bulldozed infrastructure.
Media sources said dozens of army jeeps and vehicles invaded the city, accompanied by two bulldozers, through the city’s western entrance, before heading towards the Nur Shams refugee camp, and imposing a tight siege on the camp and deploying their vehicles on all streets leading to it.
The sources added that the army closed the main entrances to the refugee camp while reconnaissance and armed drone flew overhead.
Also, the soldiers imposed a curfew on the camp, preventing the Palestinians from leaving their homes or returning to the area.
The soldiers started bulldozing several sections of the city’s streets on their way to the Tulkarem refugee camp, specifically the Younis Roundabout in the northern neighborhood, the Sikka Street, Martyr Saif Abu Labdeh Square, and Nablus Street adjacent to western entrance of the refugee camp.
Many Palestinians protested the invasions, before the soldiers shot and moderately injured a young man who was rushed to a hospital in the city.
Meanwhile, the soldiers stormed and ransacked many homes in the Al-Manshiyya neighborhood of the refugee camp, and interrogated dozens of Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards and mobile phones.
During the invasion, the army demolished an abandoned house at the entrance of the refugee camp, to allow more vehicles to invade it while firing barrages of live rounds and flares.
The army also targeted electricity poles and wires along the main Nablus Street, near the refugee camp, causing power outages in several parts of the area.
On Thursday evening, Israeli soldiers invaded the Ein Al-Sultan refugee camp, north of Jericho in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank and abducted a young man. The soldiers also rammed and injured a young woman in Jenin, in the northern West Bank.
On Thursday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded various parts of the occupied West Bank, searched, and ransacked homes, and abducted at least 26 Palestinians, including two young women.
The Palestinian Detainees Committee has reported that Israeli soldiers abducted more than 40 Palestinians Thursday in several parts of the West Bank, mainly in Nablus, followed by Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jericho, Hebron, and Jerusalem.
It added that the soldiers assaulted and injured many Palestinians during the invasion and abductions and demolished two homes of detainees Mohammad and Ahmad Zeidat in Bani Naim town near Hebron; both were abducted in January.
The Committee stated that the Israeli army abducted more than 8.310 Palestinians, including women and children, since October 7, 2023.
