Israeli occupation forces attacked, on Friday afternoon, the weekly anti-settlement procession, in the village of Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia, in the northwestern part of the West Bank, local sources reported.
Media sources said that Israeli troops fired rubber-coated steel rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters at the Palestinian demonstrators, injuring two young men with steel rounds, while dozens of others sustained inhalation injuries.
All of those who sustained injuries were treated by local medics at the scene.
Israeli colonists from the nearby illegal “Kedumin” settlement, established on expropriated Palestinian lands, have full access to the street, while Palestinians are forced to take longer routes east to Nablus city, the nearest major commercial center, prolonging travel time and causing undue hardship.
Palestinian villagers from Kufur Qaddoum and the surrounding areas, have rallied every Friday since 2003 demanding that the Israeli occupation authorities reopen the road.
