Israeli authorities demolished, on Monday, the Bedouin village of Al-Arakib, in the Negev region of Israel, for the 232nd time, under the protection of police forces.

Media sources said that Israeli police stormed the village of Al-Arakib, on Monday morning, accompanied by two front end loaders and proceeded to demolish the tents and crude residential structures belonging to the residents of the threatened village.

It is important to mention that the village of Al-Arakib, in the Negev region of the occupation state of Israel, has now been demolished 232 times since it was first demolished on July 27, 2010.

The village, unrecognized by the Israeli state, is under the constant threat of displacement, in fact the villagers have suffered ten demolitions since the beginning of 2024.

Due to their steadfastness, the people refuse to leave their land and they continue to rebuild their tents and structures each time they are destroyed by the occupation state which has carried out the destruction of the village 11 times in 2023, 15 times in 2022, and 14 times in 2021.

At least half of the 240,000 Arab residents of the Negev desert, live in villages and Bedouin camps, some of which have been in place for hundreds of years.

While the occupation authorities refuse to recognize their ownership of the lands, and deny them the basic services such as water and electricity, with the aim of forcibly displacing them.
