Israeli occupation authorities demolished a Palestinian home in Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem, on Monday, as demolition orders placed additional families across the area at risk of displacement.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli municipal bulldozers razed the home of the Abu Mayala family.
Local officials reported that Israeli authorities issued demolition notices targeting five more Palestinian homes north of Jerusalem, including one near the Jaba’ military roadblock.
Although the homeowner challenged the demolition order in Israeli courts, Israeli authorities gave the family only 24 hours to evacuate the property.
In the Coptic Quarter neighborhood of Ar-Ram, four families were given two days to leave their homes before the planned demolitions.
The Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission documented 71 demolition operations in August alone, targeting 155 Palestinian structures: 55 homes, 33 livelihood structures, 61 agricultural structures, and six other buildings.
Israeli authorities also issued 44 demolition notices during the same month.
In total, these measures affected at least 200 Palestinians, including 75 children and 56 women.
