An Israeli colonizer was seriously wounded Sunday morning in a stabbing incident near Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank, according to Israeli media reports.
Israeli sources said a person they identified as Palestinian entered a farm between the villages of Osarin and Awarta, southeast of Nablus, and stabbed an Israeli colonizer, seriously wounding him.
The injured colonizer received medical treatment at the scene before being transferred to a hospital, while Israeli occupation forces deployed troops to the area.
Israeli military sources said the alleged assailant fled after the stabbing. Forces then deployed throughout the southeastern Nablus region, particularly around Awarta and Osarin, established additional military positions, and began sweeping searches for the suspect.
The stabbing took place amid escalating Israeli military operations and colonizer violence throughout the occupied West Bank.
Earlier Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded dozens of Palestinian communities across the territory, abducting numerous Palestinians, including former political prisoners, a child, and university student activist Osama Nakhla in Ramallah, in the central West Bank.
In the northern West Bank, illegal Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinians in the Abu Al-Hamra area south of Beita, near Nablus, injuring residents and damaging agricultural property. Colonizers also vandalized electrical infrastructure between Beita and Osarin, causing power outages in nearby communities.
Israeli forces also invaded communities in and around Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarem, Tubas, Ramallah, Hebron, and occupied Jerusalem, breaking into homes, abducting Palestinians, and installing military roadblocks.
The incident also comes amid ongoing Israeli offensives in the occupied West Bank that have caused Palestinian deaths and injuries, extensive destruction of homes and infrastructure, and repeated attacks by Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers against Palestinian communities.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Omar Muhammad Tubasi, 20, was killed, on Sunday night, after Israeli colonizers shot him in the head.
Just four days earlier, Israeli sharpshooters killed the child Khalil Rasem Abu Alia, 16, and Omar Mohammad Naji Al-Naasan, 19, when they confronted a colonizer attack in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli soldiers and illegal paramilitary colonizers have killed 97 Palestinians, including 26 children and 6 women in the occupied West Bank.
Among those, 22 have been killed in Ramallah, 20 in Hebron, 19 in Nablus, 11 in Jerusalem, 9 in Jenin, 6 in Tubas, 3 in Bethlehem, 3 in Qalqilia, 2 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 1 in Salfit, and 1 in Tulkarem, according to the Shireen Observatory.
