On Thursday evening, an illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizer shot a Palestinian man on his land in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Mohammad Rib’ey, the head of the Tiwana Village Council, reported that the colonizer, dressed in an Israeli military uniform, fired live rounds at Haj Sa’id Mohammad Al-‘Amour, 60, wounding him in the leg.

Rib’ey added that Al-‘Amour was working on his land when the colonizer shot him and noted that paramilitary colonizers had repeatedly threatened to shoot and kill Al-‘Amour if he returned to his land.

Palestinian medics rushed to the scene and transported the injured man to a hospital in Hebron.

In related news, a group of paramilitary colonizers and Israeli soldiers invaded the Al-Karmel archaeological pool in Yatta town, south of Hebron, after soldiers isolated the area to prevent Palestinians from entering.

Local media activist Osama Makhamra stated that the army invaded Palestinian homes in the area and stationed sharpshooters on rooftops.

Makhamra explained that the pool, dating back to the Canaanite era, was historically used for storing rainwater for irrigation and drinking by locals and their livestock.

Furthermore, a group of colonizers established a new illegal outpost on Palestinian lands in Turmus Ayya town, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank.

The colonizers brought livestock to the site, further entrenching their presence on the occupied land.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
