In the central occupied West Bank, a paramilitary Israeli colonizer shot a Palestinian man near an illegal colonial outpost west of Salfit, with Israeli sources initially describing him as “neutralized” or “eliminated”—terms commonly used by Israeli military and media institutions that often imply a person has been killed, yet do not explicitly confirm whether the individual was fatally wounded or injured. Later Palestinian reports clarified that he was injured and in stable condition.

Israeli media said the incident occurred at the Doron Valley Farm, an illegal colonial outpost adjacent to the illegal Revava colony, which is built on land belonging to the Palestinian town of Deir Istiya, north of Salfit.

According to those accounts, the Palestinian man approached several Israeli colonizers at the site and spoke with them—some outlets said in Hebrew, others in Arabic.

The colonizers claimed they felt “threatened” and instructed him to move away. They alleged that when he did not comply, he pulled out a knife, prompting one of the colonizers to draw his personal firearm and open fire, shooting him and “neutralizing” him at the scene. No injuries were reported among the Israelis.

A right‑wing Israeli outlet stated that a “civilian” at the farm “prevented a stabbing attack” and “eliminated” the Palestinian.

Israeli security and media institutions frequently use terms such as “neutralized” and “eliminated” to describe a person who has been shot, but these terms do not clarify whether the individual was killed, critically wounded, or subdued without fatal injury.

The spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army said that soldiers were dispatched to the area near Revava “following a report of an attempted stabbing attack.”

The spokesperson confirmed that the alleged attack was “thwarted,” but did not provide any information regarding the Palestinian’s medical condition.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) reported that the man has been identified as Qussai Ibrahim Rayyan, 28, from Qarawat Bani Hassan, northwest of Salfit, and confirmed that he is in stable condition, contradicting the ambiguity in Israeli reports.

Shortly after the incident, dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded Qarawat Bani Hassan, stormed and ransacked Rayyan’s family home, and interrogated relatives.

The incident comes amid a sharp escalation in attacks by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers and occupation soldiers across the occupied West Bank.

In recent weeks, colonizers—often operating under direct military protection—have carried out assaults on Palestinian homes, vehicles, and agricultural lands, while expanding outposts and attempting to seize additional Palestinian property.

At the same time, Israeli forces have intensified invasions of towns and refugee camps, conducted widespread abductions, imposed movement restrictions, and erected new military roadblocks, contributing to a rapidly deteriorating situation for Palestinian communities throughout the region.
