On Wednesday, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers burnt large areas of Palestinian lands, electricity poles, closed roads leading to farmlands, and fired live rounds at the Palestinians in Yasuf village, east of Salfit, in the occupied West Bank’s central part.

Wa’el Abu Madi, the head of Yasuf Village Council, said the paramilitary colonizers invaded the Khallet Al-Ein area, in the eastern part of the village, and set ablaze large areas of agricultural lands and electricity poles.

Abu Madi added that the soldiers fired many live rounds at the Palestinians who tried to reach their lands to extinguish the fire.

The attacks occurred shortly after Israeli soldiers closed the agricultural road leading to the lands and installed concrete blocks near the village’s main entrance.

It is worth mentioning that the colonizers have escalated their violations and attacked various villages and towns in the Salfit governorate, including the invasions and ransacking of homes, destruction of property and infrastructure, the burning and uprooting of farmlands, and the confiscation of property across the governorate.

Last Thursday, illegal Israeli colonizers attacked, on Thursday, citizens’ homes and destroyed their property near the city of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
