Before dawn on Monday, six Palestinians sustained injuries after illegal Israeli colonizers invaded the village of Umm al-Khair in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.
Osama Makhamra, a local anti-settlement activist, told the WAFA news agency that at least 30 armed colonizers, stormed the village of Umm al-Khair, while soldiers closed its main entrance.
Makhamra added that the invading settlers assaulted a number of Palestinians who confronted them, resulting in six citizens suffering various injuries; they were treated by paramedics at the scene.
He said that one of the homes targeted by the settlers is that of the citizen Salem Al-Hathalin, adding that the army declared his property a closed military zone 48 hours earlier.
Media sources added that another group of settlers cut electrical wires and destroyed a fence belonging to the citizen Ayoub Al-Masri in the Khallat Al-Homs area, south of Yatta town.
Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli settlers established a new illegal colonial outpost near the Bedouin community of Ma’azi Jaba’, north of occupied Jerusalem.
Furthermore, in the central West Bank governorate of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, colonizers grazed their livestock on citizens’ lands in the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah.
Another group of colonizers hurled rocks at Palestinian vehicles that were travelling on the road between Silwad and Yabrud, northeast of Ramallah; no injuries were reported.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, illegal Israeli colonizers and occupation forces carried out 11,074 attacks against Palestinian citizens since the beginning of the year.
In a report released on Monday, the Commission announced a significant escalation in the number and nature of the attacks.
According to Minister Mu’ayyad Sha’ban, the head of the Commission, the attacks ranged from land confiscation, settlement expansion, forced displacement, field executions, sabotage, land razing, uprooting of trees, theft of property, in addition to road closures.
Minister Sha’ban stated that colonizers carried out 3,488 attacks against Palestinian civilians, including killing 17 citizens, physical assault, burning homes, shooting at citizens and their homes, and hurling rocks at vehicles.
