Illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers prevented many Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands in Sinjil town, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
Local sources said the colonizers gathered in the ar-Rafeed area, where the Palestinian lands face the threat of illegal annexation, and prevented the owners from reaching their lands.
They added that the colonizers chased the farmers out of the area and threatened to shoot them if they returned.
Israeli soldiers were present in the area but failed to intervene before the Palestinians were forced to leave.
The Palestinians were trying to enter their land to plow them and tend to their crops.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
