A Palestinian man was critically injured on Wednesday evening after illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers opened fire at a civilian vehicle in the Yatta wilderness, south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said an armed group of colonizers chased a vehicle carrying several Palestinian citizens near the Umm Qissa area before firing multiple live rounds at it.
They added that a 35‑year‑old man was struck by several bullets and sustained life‑threatening injuries.
Shortly after the attack, Israeli forces invaded the area, detained the remaining passengers, and interrogated them on-site before releasing them.
The soldiers then handed the wounded man over to Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) medics.
The PRCS said its crews received the man in a “very critical condition,” noting that he had been hit by several live rounds, and transported him immediately to hospital for emergency treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the colonizers who carried out the attack seized the vehicle after shooting the man and withdrew toward the colonial outpost built on Palestinian-owned land in the Khashem al-Daraj area.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli soldiers invaded Taqaqa village, south of Doura, southwest of Hebron, and shot a young man.
The soldiers also detained several young Palestinian men, and repeatedly assaulted one, slamming his head against a wall.
