The Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission revealed, Tuesday, that Israeli occupation authorities have officially announced the confiscation of 455,58 dunams of Palestinian land in the villages of Jit and Far’ata, east of Qalqilia, and Tell, west of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.

The land grab was carried out under a new declaration labeling the area as “state land,” a designation routinely used by the occupying power to justify the appropriation of Palestinian territory.

According to the Commission’s statement, the targeted area encompasses the location of the colonial outpost “Havat Gilad,” which was illegally established in 2003 on lands belonging to the Palestinians.

The latest confiscation aims to “regularize” the status of this outpost, a move previously signaled by the Israeli government as part of its broader colonization strategy.

With this declaration, the total area confiscated under the pretext of “state land” since the formation of Israel’s far-right government in early 2023 has now exceeded 26,000 dunams, spread across 13 separate declarations.

In a report issued Tuesday, the Commission documented that Israeli colonizers attempted to establish 18 new colonial outposts since the beginning of last month, most of which were agricultural and pastoral in nature.

Additionally, the occupation authorities confiscated 45 dunams of Palestinian land through four military seizure orders, which included:

  • Establishing a buffer zone around the colony of Eli Zahav in Deir Ballout (Salfit)
  • Constructing colonial roads in Deir Istiya
  • Setting up a military post in Tammun (Tubas)

The report further revealed that Israeli planning bodies reviewed 31 structural plans for colonies, 27 in the West Bank and 4 within the boundaries of the Jerusalem municipality.

Of these, 15 plans were approved, paving the way for the construction of 4,492 new colonial housing units. An additional 12 plans were submitted for deposit, proposing 2,328 units over 2,594 dunams.

In occupied Jerusalem, the municipality approved one plan and deposited three others, targeting the construction of 229 colonial units on 9.443 dunams of Palestinian land.

In related news, a group of illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers occupied a Palestinian home in Hebron’s Old City, in the southern West Bank.

Media sources said the colonizers, accompanied by many soldiers, occupied a home belonging to Nasr family near the old City Council building, and closed several streets, especially in the Zahda and Shallala areas.
