Israeli forces executed two Palestinian young men, and wounded another, on Sunday, after besieging two homes in the village of Salem, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

The WAFA News Agency quoted Adli Shtayyeh, the head of the Salem Village Council, who said that occupation forces stormed Salem village, besieged two homes, and opened heavy fire in the area.

Shtayyeh added that military reinforcements arrived at the scene, and local Palestinians protested the incursion, resulting in the soldiers firing live rounds towards citizens and their homes.
 

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews retrieved the body of the slain Qusay Nasser Mahmoud Nassar, 23, from inside one of the two besieged houses, before transporting the body to the Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus.


Later, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced that it was informed by the General Authority of Civil Affairs that the young man, Wissam Ghassan Hassan Shtayyeh, 37, was fatally shot by Israeli forces, adding that his body is being withheld by the army.

WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli forces shot two other citizens with live ammunition, one of whom was a 62-year-old man who sustained a live gunshot wound to the leg; he was transported to the hospital by PRCS ambulance crews.


He added that occupation forces shot another citizen with live ammunition, before abducting him; the wounded young man.

Media sources later reported that the abducted young man, Wissam Ghassan Hassan Ishtiya, 37, succumbed to live gunshot wounds while in the custody of the Israeli army.

Sources added that occupation forces seized a vehicle belonging to one of the slain citizens from the scene of the assassination.


Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 170 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 30 children and 6 women.

Occupation forces have killed 59 Palestinians in Jenin, 30 in Nablus, 26 in Tubas, 17 in Tulkarem, 10 in Hebron, 9 in Ramallah, 6 in Bethlehem, 5 in Jerusalem, 4 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho.

In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 57,418, including women and children, while at least 136,261 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
