Israeli forces injured, on Friday, several Palestinian citizens in the village of Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said that on Friday afternoon, occupation forces surrounded the Omar bin al-Khattab Mosque, where the weekly anti-settlement march begins after the Friday prayer.

Sources added that soldiers prevented many worshipers from entering the mosque prior to the Friday prayer.

While Palestinian worshipers were leaving the mosque after the prayer, Israeli forces opened fire with live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters towards them.

One young man was struck with a tear gas canister which soldiers fired into the mosque, shattering one of its windows, while dozens of citizens suffered the toxic effects of tear gas and were treated at the scene by local medics.


Hours earlier, the army invaded the village and surrounded the mosque, preventing worshipers from entering it to perform Friday prayers, sparking protests among local citizens.

Media sources said that during the confrontations, occupation forces fired concussion grenades and tear gas canisters at the citizens; no injuries were reported.

In related news, Israeli soldiers shot a 17-year-old child with live ammunition after storming the northern West Bank city of Nablus, at dawn Friday.

On Day 322 of the protracted military onslaught against the the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli army continues its bombing and shelling of various regions of the coastal enclave, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians.
