Israeli forces shot and killed, on Saturday, a Palestinian child, and injured another in the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, southwest of Jericho in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said that occupation forces invaded, on Saturday evening, the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, and opened fire with live rounds towards two Palestinian children in the vicinity of the western cemetery in the camp.
Soldiers shot the two teens with live ammunition, while the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that the army prevented their ambulance crews from approaching the wounded to provide first aid, and proceeded to abduct both injured children.
Later the PRCS received the body of the child, Ahmad Ashraf Walid Hamidat, 16, at a military roadblock south of Jericho, and transported him to the Jericho Governmental Hospital.
It was added that the second injured child was identified as Muhammad Musa Al-Bitar, 17, and he remains in the custody of the occupation forces, despite his injury.
The severity of the child’s health condition was not known at the time of writing this report; any new information will be updated as it becomes available.
Israeli forces have now killed 522 Palestinian civilians, including 131 children, while 20 Palestinians have been killed by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since October 7, 2023.
Israeli forces have killed at least 36,379 Palestinians, mostly woman and children, and injured at least 82,407, since the beginning of the brutal military onslaught against the devastated Gaza Strip, while thousands remain buried under the rubble.
