Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian child, on Thursday night, after invading the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank.

Media sources reported that occupation forces shot the child, Yamen Samed Hamed, 15, with live ammunition, and blocked ambulance crews from approaching him for a period of time.

The sources added that soldiers left the wounded child lying on the ground for a short time before allowing ambulance crews to transport him to the Palestine Medical Complex, where he was later pronounced dead.

The army invaded the town of Silwad on Thursday night, sparking protests from local Palestinian youths at the entrance to the town.

Soldiers opened fire with live rounds, tear gas canisters, and concussion grenades at those who resisted the incursion.

Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 227 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 41 children and 6 women.

Since the beginning of the year, occupation forces have killed 78 Palestinians in Jenin, 40 in Nablus, 29 in Tubas, 19 in Hebron, 18 in Ramallah, 17 in Tulkarem, 9 in Bethlehem, 7 in Jerusalem, 6 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho, according to the Shireen Observatory.

In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 68,643 including women and children, while at least 170,655 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
