On Wednesday afternoon, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian young man and injured others, at the entrance to the city of Al-Biereh, east of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.

Media sources said that occupation forces attacked a march commemorating the 76th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, at the northern entrance to Al-Biereh.

Soldiers opened fire at peaceful demonstrators with live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters, shooting and seriously injuring a Palestinian young man with a live round in the neck.

The critically injured young man was transported to hospital, where doctors attempted life saving measures which were unsuccessful; he was pronounced dead at that time.

The slain young man was identified as Ayser Mohammad Safi, 20, a student at Birzeit University, and a resident of the Al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah.

It was added that Palestinians participating in the march protested the army attack, and dozens suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.

On Sunday, Israeli soldiers killed Samer Nasser Rommana, 27, after shooting him in the head with live ammunition, in the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces have killed 499 Palestinian civilians, including 124 children, while 20 Palestinians have been killed by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since October 7, 2023.

In the Gaza Strip, Israel has killed at least 35,233 Palestinians, including more than 15,000 children, 9,800 women, and has injured more than 79,141, since October 7, 2023, not including the thousands of Palestinians who remain buried under the rubble.
