Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man, on Friday, and injured two fishermen in separate incidents in the besieged and destroyed Gaza Strip.

He added that Israeli Navy ships opened fire with machine guns off the coast of Gaza City, in the northern Gaza Strip, wounding two Palestinian fishermen.

In related news, United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres stated that “The ceasefire and hostage release agreement must hold,” adding that “the two parties must spare no effort to avoid the collapse of this agreement.”

The first phase of the deal ends on Saturday, while negotiations on the second phase of the agreement resumed in Cairo, Egypt, with the participation of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.

In a statement, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced their “full commitment to implementing all the terms of the agreement in all its stages and details,” urging the international community to pressure the Israeli government to “fully commit” to the agreement and “immediately enter the second stage without any hesitation or evasion.”

During the first phase of the ceasefire agreement which began on January 19, 2025, the Islamic Resistance Movement has released 33 Israeli captives, eight of whom were deceased, while 1,777 Palestinian detainees have been released from occupation prisons.

Media sources said that Israel has delayed negotiations for the second stage of the agreement, and has failed to fully withdraw its forces from the southern border of Gaza.
